"When you combine the two," he says, "you have a food producing system that's 95 per cent more efficient on water than traditional agriculture. You also have much higher density, and it's organic by nature."
The key to aquaponics lies in the water that the plants and fish share. The fish supply nutrients that feed the plants, and the plants clean the water so the fish can live in it.
